Geocachers! Accept the challenge to find the five heritage geocaches at Land Between The Lakes. The first 100 people to do so will earn a limited edition gold coin.
New to geocaching? Find out more at www.geocaching.com.
This challenge provides a geocache adventure where you learn area history and visit heritage sites along the way. Some boast spectacular views!
In each geocache box, you should find a sign-in sheet, date logbook and 100 aluminum metal tree tags. We have stamped each tag with numbering specific to that cache location. Collect one tree tag per geocacher from each of the five locations.
Exchange your five different metal tree tags at the Golden Pond Visitor Center. You then receive a Land Between The Lakes Heritage Geocache 2016 challenge coin created just for this event.

For extra bragging rights, each coin is individually numbered. As shown in the illustration, they range from 1 to 100.
We want to honor the first and last awardees. If you receive coin 1 of 100 and 100 of 100 (first and last coins) please allow the Visitor Center staff to record your names.
Once participants have redeemed all tree tags and coins, this year’s geocache challenge ends.
After closing the challenge, we will collect the boxes to prepare for next year’s event.

Added Bonus
Here is one last incentive to get you out there exploring. Each box also contains three Buffalo tokens (gold color). Take one and leave something behind, in true geocaching tradition. Several years ago, these tokens would open the gate at the Land Between The Lakes Elk and Bison Prairie so these are considered collectors’ items.
