Meet the Forest Service
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service is a Federal agency that manages public lands in our national forests and grasslands, including Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in western Kentucky and Tennessee.
The Forest Service is the largest forestry research organization in the world, and provides technical and financial assistance to state and private forestry agencies. The mission of the Forest Service is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation’s forests and grasslands to meet the needs of present and future generations.
